The UK Job Market
Right now getting a job in the UK market is the hardest it's ever been.

More people are applying for less jobs.

We could go into many reasons for this; economic factors (recessions),
population increase, change in business practices, people retiring later,
but regardless of the reasons the bottom line for people seeking employment today is more people are applying for less jobs.
Our Gurus have reported that a popular Graduate Programme in '09 has so many applicants, that statistically if you even get progressed to interview stage you stand a 0.7% of getting through! Recently one of Gurus was interviewing for 30 callcentre staff for a well known financial company and their HR team received approximately 2000 applications!

We recognise that not only has the job market become more competitive, we know employers are now more selective around who they offer jobs to - and let's face it they can afford to be.

In fact we have seen that within the that last 18 months the recruitment process for large UK companies has been dramatically changed to filter through the sudden increase of applicants. These changes can range from a tighter application criteria, a judgment questionnaire or even an additional telephone interview stage. Perhaps the most noticeable though, is with the job interview itself.

Why Interview Guru was created
So now more then ever, getting a job you really want can can be very challenging.
The interview consultants that work with Interview Guru became increasingly frustrated with extremely capable candidates being denied an opportunity because they do not know how to interview well.

These candidates can have impressive credentials, great experience, the right skills, want the position more then anyone else or the job could mean more to them - but if they can't show the correct evidence of this in their interview answers it means nothing.

A further frustration of our Interview Consultants is the lack of real help available for anyone that really wants to get their interview skills handled. The generic advice offered by other resources (EG. research the company, make eye contact, ask questions to show interest) is not only out dated, it is also ineffective as these are fundamentals that everyone's doing.

Interview Guru offers tailor made, professional guidance. We help you with answers and examples for job interviews that you will use for the rest of your working life at a price that is accessible to everyone.

We will give you the job interview help you need.
